Winter Readings
In wintertime while nature sleeps, our mind is less prone to aimless wandering. It wanders more towards trying to see through questions that had no right time to be asked. It is so nourishing to read and give your mind a beautiful path to follow.
Hearing a new song or finding a new poem are simple joys that can make a difference in your day. Sometimes even inspire you to something great. Sharing discovered poems and quotes is a great joy for us. Carefully tucked into the pocket of each dress we send, is a bit of inspiration in the shape of a poem by Erin Hanson, a writer very dear to us.
Simple pleasures can make more of an impact than we think. We just need to notice and take it all in.
Don’t underestimate the power of a cup tea and sharing thoughts, dreams and a good book with your friends.
“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
“To hear never-heard sounds,
To see never-seen colors and shapes,
To try to understand the imperceptible
Power pervading the world;
To fly and find pure ethereal substances
That are not of matter
But of that invisible soul pervading reality.
To hear another soul and to whisper to another soul;
To be a lantern in the darkness
Or an umbrella in a stormy day;
To feel much more than know.
To be the eyes of an eagle, slope of a mountain;
To be a wave understanding the influence of the moon;
To be a tree and read the memory of the leaves;
To be an insignificant pedestrian on the streets
Of crazy cities watching, watching, and watching.
To be a smile on the face of a woman
And shine in her memory
As a moment saved without planning.”
~ Dejan Stojanovic
